End of Marking Period 1

We are now done with our first nine weeks! WMS does not send home report cards after the first marking period, so please check PowerSchool to see your grades.

As we begin the second marking period, there are a few things to remember that might help keep your math grade up where it should be:

1) Online Resources - Use this to take practice quizzes and tests, or to watch videos when you are absent.

2) Turn in your homework! - Even though homework is only worth 10% of your overall grade, one missing assignment could make the difference between an A and a B, or passing and failing. Plus, you get the practice you need to be successful on quizzes/tests.

3) Speaking of being successful on quizzes and tests.... STUDY FOR ASSESSMENTS! - The best thing that you can do for yourself to keep your grade up is to be prepared for every quiz and test. If you aren't 100% confident going in, then you didn't do enough to prepare.

Create your own graph and write a story that matches up. Remember that for every dot, you need to tell us how far you went and how long it took. On Monday we will exchange stories and your partner will have to try to recreate your graph based on your story. Make it easy on them - use details!!

Welcome!

Welcome to our Digital Classroom!

Parents & Students: On this site, you will find all you need to know about Mr. Gdowski's math classes. I will post the homework, helpful links, and random mathematical thoughts that will help get you through the year.

A couple websites that have been helpful for students (and parents) throughout the years:

Holt Online Math Resources - This site goes right along with our textbooks. The entire book is online, meaning no more excuses of "I forgot my book at school." Also, there are practice quizzes after every lesson, a practice test for every chapter and lesson tutorial videos that you can use if you don't understand something or were absent. Students should have their username and password taped to the inside of their agendas. USE THIS RESOURCE!

Khan Academy  - Here's a site with tons of resources for you including practice problems and videos. If there is anything math related that you need help with, this is definitely a site to check out.
